My services include:
- a free, no-obligation interview
- prenatal visit(s) (if time allows)
- unlimited availability to answer questions by phone or email
- on-call access 24/7 for 2 weeks before and after your estimated due date
- educational, emotional and physical support throughout your labor and delivery, including gentle massage, comfort measures and relaxation techniques — you must call me when you believe you are in labor
- assistance with initial breastfeeding
- guidance in relaxation during contractions, helping you to allow nature to move your baby through the stages of labor
- immediate postpartum support for up to two hours for help with recovery and breastfeeding
- birth photography (optional)
- support for both high- and low-risk mothers
What I don’t do
- I do not replace the doctor, midwife, nurse, or partner — but I work together with them to ensure that you have the optimum birth experience.
- I do not perform clinical tasks such as take blood pressure, read fetal heart monitor or vaginal exams, or diagnose medical conditions.
- I will not speak on your behalf to medical staff concerning your care.
Fees
Although I do need to cover my expenses, I offer a sliding scale. I believe that every woman deserves a doula. So please contact me and we will work something out.
